Reindeer Run Endurance Race

The Reindeer Run is a yearly endurance, four stroke race held every December at Speedsportz. Teams of 4 or less run the Lo206 engine relentlessly for 4 hours straight. Racers must strategize their 7 pit stops perfectly in order to get the best results possible.

Sally paired up with Rocco Ruzic in a two-man team in attempt to stay strong for all four hours. With the help of Robby Mott and Brenden Orr tuning, handling, and pushing the kart through the pits, they were able to get the fastest lap and win a podium.

It definitely wasn’t easy. We were constantly rushing and stressing about when the next pit stop would be. At one point, some aggressive drivers almost ran Rocco off the track and ruined our entire race, but luckily we pushed through.

The Saturday before, the two tested and analyzed data to maximize their potential. By the first few test sessions, they already had the pace and a strategy worked out.

We pulled starting positions from a hat and ended up towards the back of the field. It was a rough start to the four hours, but we managed to grab third place by avoiding trouble and being consistent both on track and in the pit lane.

Thanks to her sponsors Ribtect and Fat Leaf Delivery, the 2021 Reindeer Run ended with smiles and success.
