Speedsportz Night Race 5

This weekend at Speedsportz Racing Park, Sally competed in the 2nd night race of the year with 13 other competitors.

She qualified P1, only 0.004 of a second faster than P2.

For the prefinal, Sally got an amazing start and led the entire race start to finish as the pack battled behind her.

It was intense being in front of 6 karts nose to tail. I could feel them battling behind me, but I just put my head down and focused on being consistent.

Then in the final, Sally came out on the start in P3. She quickly worked her way back to the front, leading the majority of race. However, on the last lap, Sally defended every corner, but got tangled up with Kelvin Xing. This allowed Bryce Frank to get a run and sneak a pass for the win.

Although it’s not the results I wanted, it was one of the most fun races I’ve competed in. Even though I ended up in 2nd, I still got out of my kart with a huge smile and a ton of respect for my competition. These moments are the reason why I race.
