Harris Hill Miata Race #1
Last weekend was my first Miata race of the 2023 season. After countless weekends of testing, tuning, going to different tracks, practicing on the simulator, going to the gym, and reading racing books, I took the first win of the season!
In the first race of the day, I started P9 going clockwise. I got a good start, and drove my way up from there. Sooner than half way through the race, I was leading the pack of 30 cars.
I lead the rest of the race, finishing with the fastest lap time and a result of P1 overall.
In the second race, going counter-clockwise, I started P7. I got another good start and immediately began making passes. Then after making the pass for 1st, it was an easy race from there. I ended up finished P1 in my class, clean sweeping both races!
I couldn’t have done it without all the hours, blood, sweat, and tears put in by Robby Mott, my dad, coach, and mechanic. Together, we have been working hard, traveling to new tracks every weekend, testing and tuning to find the best setup to fit my driving style. I believe that because both of us have been putting forth 100% of our effort to succeed in the Miata, this will be the first of many victories!
