Sally’s First Race Car

This weekend was one Sally has waited for since she started karting. Even though she loves it, she has always dreamt of racing cars. Now, she has officially stepped out of karting and into the beginning of her race car career. Her main focus for the rest of the season remains on karting as she hopes to end the year off with a bang by winning the remaining 3 championships of the year.

After a few days of texting back and forth with Nick Knisley, the owner of the H2R Challenge Miata for sale, Sally and her dad finally came to the conclusion that this was the smartest way to start her car racing career.

Their plan is compete in the Miata club championship for a year at Harris Hill Raceway. Then, after Sally has gained experience and gotten comfortable with race craft, move into a regional Spec Miata class, driving in a more competitive environment. Ultimately, her goal is to race in the televised national MX-5 Cup Miata Series, gaining maximum publicity, and potentially finding a sponsor to take her to the next level of car racing.

I can’t wait to start racing my Miata! It’s like a kart, but with suspension, gears, and a roll cage. My favorite part about it, though, is that I’m going to learn a whole new set of life lessons!
