Harris Hill Miata Race #3

This weekend was Sally’s third Miata race at Harris Hill Raceway.

As H2R has two races, one clockwise and one counterclockwise, Sally started the first race of the day going her favorite direction: counterclockwise. Starting P4, on the second row, Sally got a great start and was passing for the lead within the first lap.

Although she didn’t remain in the front for the entire race, she showed tremendous speed as a newbie and made 20+ passes within the first race.

That was the most fun I’ve ever had in a car race! I made some epic passes and learned so much valuable information in only 40 minutes of racing!

In the second race, Sally started in the back due to the inverted style of the grid (you start the opposite of where you finished the first race). As cars where going 4-wide into the first corner of the start, Sally decided to play it safe and avoid a crash.

As she made it through the first few corners cleanly, Sally started to make passes and slowly approached the top 5.

I learned so much this weekend. Making passes, spinning out, improving my weak areas of the track, rubbing paint with people. It was a blast! However, I still have so much farther to go before I’m ready to take a championship. This race gave me a new sense of motivation and a clear vision of my goals for this upcoming season of racing. I’m ready for it!
